Broken Arrow Ledger

Broken Arrow Ledger

G.B. Poindexter, an excellent photojournalist and managing editor for the Broken Arrow Ledger used this picture to do an article on my Alaskan Cruise. He did a great job of capturing this picture of the Mendenhall Glacier. I was totally amazed that the captain of the Celebrity Solstice could maneuver a ship of that size up into the fjord to allow us a close-up, then when another cruise ship was behind us and coming up to take a look as well, our captain did not back out, but actually turning the vessel around and headed out going forward. This small river cruise boat is certainly dwarfed by the magnitude of the glacier. Some guests on our cruise ship were afforded a REAL close-up. They loaded the passengers onto the small riverboat and got even closer than our big ship did. Thanks to the Broken Arrow Ledger for doing the article. It was in the October 16th edition.
